My name is Christine Marquette and I am a registered and licensed dietitian with Marquette Nutrition and Fitness and I'm going to talk to you about Mangosteen juice health benefits. Mangosteen juice is another juice that has really been out in full force on the market. Initially it was primarily being sold through multi level marketing companies but it is starting to be seen in health food stores and various other supermarkets. It was marketed for a wide variety of conditions that it could help improve blood pressure, help improve cancer, improve symptoms of multiple sclerosis. Mangosteen juice actually does have a lot of different fido nutrients, a lot of fido chemicals, different antioxidants in it so there is that potential that it can help improve our overall health, however, the research in Mangosteen juice is still in its infancy. We don't have a lot of hard scientific proof that it actually does any of the claims that have often been associated with it. Again there is that potential but we don't really know for a fact. Some initial research has been looking into the aspects of it improving symptoms of multiple sclerosis so there is some potential for that to be a potential use for Mangosteen juice but again we really can't say definitively. One thing we can say because it does have high levels of fido nutrients and other chemicals such as antioxidants, it can be a healthy addition to your diet but you don't want to make the mistake of thinking that Mangosteen juice is going to be a miracle cure. You don't want to use it in place of any medications if you are already taking medications. But you can include it as part of a healthy diet. Because it is a plant based product there is that potential that it has a very high amount of different vitamins and minerals and again those different antioxidants so therefore it has that potential, it can possibly help lower your risk of certain health conditions, may help lower your risk of developing cancer in the future as we learn more and more research is done we may be able to say down the road that it can help with treatment of symptoms of MS. However, again right now there isn't any scientific proof it actually does treat or prevent any type of disease. Just in general you can include it as part of a healthy diet and again just always be cautious to the possibility that you may have an allergic reaction to it.
