"Hello. My name is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo, board certified dermatologist and author of "Six Weeks to Sensational Skin". This is about what causes leg veins. And you should realize that leg veins are often times very hereditary. So, it's not a bad idea if you're someone in your twenties or so, to ask your mom, your dad, if they've had problems with enlarged leg veins and varicose veins. If they had, then I really want you to start to be very preventative. And what we know happens in your daily routine, is if you're on your feet a lot, if you have a job as a nurse, a doctor, a flight attendant, a surgeon, you know, than you've got the kind of job, school teachers, you have the kind of job where standing on your feet is going to enlarge your leg veins. And it's very, very important if you're a man, to get stockings, preferably, I'm sorry, socks, preferably even above the knee, but certainly knee socks are not bad, that are support knee socks. If you're a woman, get support hosiery. When you go home at night, put those legs up. We love your feet to be above the level of your heart. All of this is going to help you to prevent worsening of leg veins. This is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo."
