Video Transcript

"Hello, my name is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo, board certified dermatologist, and author of "Six Weeks to Sensational Skin." This clip is about how to prevent acne. And so many times, our focus is really on clearing the acne we have. But I want to emphasize to you that if you're someone who is breaking out, that it's of the utmost of importance that the products you use are put all over your face. So that for instance, when you're washing, we want you to be washing your entire face, leave it on your skin, something like a good salicylic cleanser, leave it on your skin for a period of about sixty seconds, and then wash it off. This will then get into your pores and prevent them from clogging. Same kind of thing is true when you're talking about using glycolic in the form of, let's say, at home peel, where you really want to be sure that not only is that glycolic and peel going over the acne, but you want to be sure that when you apply it, you go all the way up to your hairline. And this could be very preventative at stopping the development of future pimples. This is Dr. Loretta."
