"Hello, my name is Dr. Loretto Ciraldo, board certified dermatologist and author of Six Weeks to Sensational Skin. This clip is about how to get a good tan. And as a board certified dermatologist, I have to tell you that we believe that the only good tan is a fake tan. So there's absolutely no problem with you using a self tanning lotion. And these come in a couple of different formats. One would be a self tanner, where you apply it. What it does is give you a little bit of dye to the skin; it has something in it called dihydroxyacetone, which just kind of dyes our dead cell layer at the top of our skin. And the typical self tanners, the conventional ones, will last you about five to seven days. The newer ones to the market, things like the Jergens, where you just apply them every single day, have the same chemical in them, but at a much, much lower percentage. So this is going to give you a little bit of a healthy glow on a daily basis. As a dermatologist, and as a woman, I think that it is not bad at all to have a little bit of a healthy tanned look, but remember, a fake tan is the only kind of healthy tan. This is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo."
