Video Transcript

"Hello, my name is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo. Board certified dermatologist, and author of Six Weeks to Sensational Skin. This clip is about how to cleanse your skin. And maybe one of the most common things that I'm asked; Is Dr. Ciraldo, should I be using a sponge or a loofah, or anything like that to cleanse my skin. And, my answer to you is, that generally speaking, you should not be using a sponge, only because things like sponges, and washcloths, tend to really grow bacteria. If you like to cleanse with a surface like a washcloth, then it's very, very important that about every two to three days, you throw that washcloth, or sponge, into the hot cycle of your washing machine, to prevent bacterial overgrowth. But, a very simple way to cleanse our skin, is just to take the cleanser, put it into your hands, just a little bit of cleanser, mix it with a little bit of water, massage it into our skin, leave it on, especially if it's something like my duo cleanse, where you've got the two percent salicylic. Leave it on for a couple of minutes, maybe just 60 seconds, 120 seconds. Rinse it off very throughly, and you're set for the day. Use your cleanser twice a day, and this is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo, wishing you great skin."
