Hello, my name is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo, Board Certified Dermatologist, and author of, "Six Weeks to Sensational Skin." This clip is about ingredients to look for in acne medications. One of the most wonderful ingredients that you can find, to help clear your acne, is salicylic acid, and salicylic acid, which is almost sometimes considered sort of a Roto Rooter for your pores. It gets it, and it unclogs the pores, of the dead skin debris. This is available as a 2% salicylic acid, in over the counter products, and in many doctor's lines, including mine, and you can also find salicylic in prescription medication, and that's where you need it in 3%, but most people will respond very well to 2% salicylic, so I recommend that you cleanse your face, with a 2% salicylic cleanser. The next thing that's really kind of revolutionized skin care for acne patients, is glycolic acid, and for glycolic acid, you're best to look for a doctor's line, that would contain 10% glycolic acid, which is going to give you an at home exfoliation, and these two things together, in my own practice, really help patients about 85% of the time, to clear. Best of luck. This is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo.
