"Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segment we are going to talk about the different types of weeds. Well every plant in the world is a weed somewhere and it doesn't matter where you go in the world they're considered a weed. When I was in Australia a lot of people consider the kangaroo paw a weed because it will just grow wild along the side of the road and take over a lot of the natural areas whereas here a lot of different plants are weeds like the rhododendrons can take over a certain area too in the wild woods and some people consider them kind of a pain because they're just everywhere. So it doesn't matter where you go in the world every plant is a weed. But generally when we are talking about weeds we are talking about the types of plants that will grow into your lawn or into your flower beds and the most annoying weeds of course are going to be dandelions because they set off those little white seed pods that will just go everywhere and then there is clover and once the clover has gotten into your flower beds you can't get rid of them for nothing and they will just take over. Now crab grass looks a lot like grass but it is more of a round swirly shape and it will really kind of take over an area and become a real nuisance so there are so many other types of weeds that will grow as well and so there is too many to talk about in one video so the best way to identify a weed is to pull it up and go on line or talk to your local Department of Agriculture extension service and a lot of times they will give you more information so in the end it is much easier just to cover the weeds with soil and put grass seed or a flower garden on top of them and then that way you can enjoy your garden and not have weeds."
