"Hi. I'm Dr. Carol Clark. I'm a sex therapist and licensed mental health counselor here in Miami, Florida. In this clip, we're going to talk about can a tubal ligation be reversed. A tubal ligation is a permanent means of preventing pregnancy. And the way we do this is the fallopian tubes are what lead from the ovaries to the uterus, and that's where the egg travels to reach the uterus and be fertilized. Now, a tubal ligation is cutting and cauterizing each fallopian tube. And once that's done, then the egg can no longer travel through it. It can be reversed. However, to do so means full surgery, opening the woman up and having to cut the ends that were previously cauterized, and reattach them so that the egg can now travel through. It's very costly, and it is major surgery. So it's not to be taken lightly, but it can be done. Once again, this is Dr. Carol Clark from Miami, Florida."
