So if you want to transfer your home video to DVD, there are a couple of ways that I would suggest that you go about doing that. Number one, if you're not very technical savvy, well you could hire a production company. There are a lot of companies out there that will take your footage and transfer it to DVD for you. Now, if you happen to be one of those tech savvy types of individuals, you could find an editing software that would allow you to take your video, import it into an editing system and author it out to a DVD. So that's one way to do it. There's also equipment out there, depending on what type of footage that you're putting to DVD, in which you could buy for example VHS to DVD. Or VHS/DVD combo generally will have the opportunity or the option within it to be able to record to DVD from your VHS footage. Or if you're footage happens to be film, 8mm, 16mm film, what I've found, the easiest way to do, is if you have a home video camera, DV camera, you can shut all the lights off, shoot your projector on a white wall or on a screen, set your tripod up aimed right at your screen and press record. Your footage will then be transfered directly to digital footage in which at that point you could import into your editing system and transfer or author out to DVD. So I hope this helps, a couple of ways that you can transfer your home movie footage to DVD.
