"Hi. My name's Lincoln Ward. I'm a USPTA certified teaching pro. Also the director of the Austin Tennis Center here in Austin, Texas. Today we're going to talk about a variety of teaching aids used in tennis. For juniors, the most widely used teaching aid are the low compression, USPTA Pro Star balls. They are lighter, and low compression balls. There's two different ones, there's a blue one and a green one. The blue one are for younger ages, they're a little bit larger so they're easier to hit. But they're both low compressions. They don't bounce very fast, and you can't hit them very far because they're so much lighter. These are designed for quick success for juniors. A couple other teaching aids that we use for juniors are tennis tubes. They're designed to pick up the tennis ball. You just press on the bottom of the tube onto the tennis ball, and it sucks it into the tube. It's a little fun teaching device to help kids enjoy learning. The last thing that juniors generally use are a different size racket. The sizes are...run from twenty one inches to twenty seven inches, just depending on the age and the strength of the child. As far as adults go, cones are great teaching aids. The best one I can suggest is the backboard. The backboard is going to be your best teaching aid and partner. No one ever beats the backboard. The backboard just hits the ball right back to you. It's the best way to work on your consistency, and developing that stroke. My name's Lincoln Ward and that's a few teaching aids."
