Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segment I'm going to talk about how to get rid of dollar weeds. So we have beautiful lawn and it's gorgeous and when we planted it it was nice and green and lush and over the years we've noticed there's dollar weeds coming up all over. It's these little green weeds that are shaped like a little dollar, and they circular, almost look like algae in a way and they just kind of take over. So there's simple ways that you can get rid of your weeds and your dollar weeds. And first of all weeds will grow when soil is not healthy. When there's no organic material your grass will die and the weeds will thrive because they don't really rely on compost or organic material they really will grow in really bad soil. So if you get rid of your dollar weeds you need to address the issue as why your, why they're growing in the lawn and obviously you don't have the right conditions for a lawn. So there's easy ways to get rid of it. You can pour boiling water right on them and it will kill them immediately. But the best way that you can get rid of any weeds in your lawn is to put compost down right over them or dirt, potting soil, right over the area that has a lot of weeds, and then every spring and every fall put down lots of grass seed. Perennial grass seed that will make it through the winter. And then you put the grass seed right in the soil and work it in, and then that way the grass will come up right over where the dollar weed was and you won't have them fighting for the space. And that way your lawn's got gorgeous organic material to grow in. And even if you kill those dollar weeds as soon as they're dead they're going to come back and the poisons aren't going to do anything good for the environment. So you're not addressing the issue. So by just reseeding your lawn adding compost the areas that are full of weeds and you will find that you will have a gorgeous lawn with no chemicals and no weeds.
