"Let's take a look at how to use a comma when you're writing a date either at the top of your paper or even within the paper itself, you know within the paragraphs. So here's an example. The date April 9th, 2009. So you're going to write April, no comma, space though, we'll put a space right here, then 9, then the comma, then a space, and then 2009. Now what if you were using the day of the week as well. This would be Wednesday, comma, space, November, space, fifteenth, comma, space, 2009. So there's no comma between the month and the day. The comma becomes between the date and the year. Same in this case as well. Let's take a look at one more example. If you're talking about a period of time in your paper, let's say you wanted to write February to May, 1998, the comma would go here. You'd say February, space, to, space, May, comma, space, 1998."
