"To register for the SAT, the best way to do it is to go to www.collegeboard.com and you'll have to if you don't already have one, you'll have to form an account, it's very easy to do, it's free to form an account and you'll choose a username and a password and you'll have a college board account. Then on college board you can register for the SAT, you can choose your test dates, your test site and it walks you through and it's very user friendly. So it's going to be your best way to register for the SAT. When you register you want to do it a fair bit in advance. The registration deadline is usually about a month, maybe even a little more than a month before the test date that you're trying to sign up for. The test dates, by the way, there are seven test dates through the year. There are several in the fall and several in the spring. So, you want to, there's October, November and December, I think there's usually January and there's a bunch in the spring. So you want to plan about a month in advance to register. If you miss that deadline, you can register up to about two weeks before the test as a late registration, but you pay an extra fee. If you miss that one, you can actually also register as a standby, you just have to do the right paperwork, and it explains it very clearly if you search for standby on collegeboard.com. You have to get a form from your college guidance office, you can probably print it out too, I bet, but it's easy to go to high school, sorry your high school guidance office to get one. Again there's an extra fee for standby. Both for stress management and to save money, you might as well register a fair bit in advance. Lastly, if you need to register for the SAT using special accommodations, you want to also allow extra time for that, either if you need to take it on a different day for religious reasons because Saturday doesn't work, or if you're going to have special accommodations for learning differences, learning disabilities, things like that, then you want to register a fair bit in advance to allow time to get that established."
