Hi, my name is Stetson Lowe, and in this clip, we're going to talk about how to sell your home by owner, or without the use of a real estate agent. The first thing you need to do is get your home listed all over the Internet. There's many sites that offer free listings, such as zilo.com, forsalebyowner. There's local Craigslist. Even eBay, ZG, and many, many more. Just do a Google search and try to find all the good and pertinent free -- sometimes they may charge a small fee -- websites you can and get your home listed all over. You're going to want to put up two to three signs around the neighborhood on major streets pointing down to your home, trying to get traffic to come and see that your home is for sale. Some people even put more -- three to five. Once you have the signs in place and you're listed on the Internet, you may even contact a local real estate agency. Tell them that you don't want to be listed by an agent, but you do want your home listed on the MLS. Sometimes they'll do that for a small fee -- you know, three to 400 dollars can be expected. Make sure you sign the right paperwork that protects you if the home sells that you do not owe a real estate commission, otherwise this would defeat the purpose of you doing a for sale by owner in the first place. It's a good idea to have a flyer made and put up a box on your for sale signs so that people in the area, when they come by, can get the basic details of your home. If you're in a distressed situation such as facing foreclosure or if you've lost your job, it's going to be a great idea to look at what other homes in your neighborhood are selling for and then price it 10 to 15 percent below that to try for a quick sell.
