"Are you thinking about buying silver for your portfolio? Hi, I'm Roger Groh of Groh Asset Management. We're here today to talk about just what you can buy in silver to make it part of your portfolio. Really there are two ways to go. You can either buy the physical metal, silver, or you can buy stocks that mine for silver. Now on buying the physical side, you have to be very careful because if you end up going to a neighborhood shop or a dealer, they may mark up significantly far beyond the spot price. The reason is that we're talking about smaller increments probably and they know that you're an unsophisticated investor and they'll want to take advantage of you. On the other side of the coin in buying silver stocks, there are plenty. Both in the United States, Latin America and Canada that you can buy. It is not an investment for the faint hearted and you need to be prepared for rapid movements both up and down. So you can buy the minerals and stick them right in your pocket and walk home with them, yes you can, it can be pretty expensive, or you can buy silver stocks which would be a lot lighter and probably more efficient. Hope that helped, I'm Roger Groh and thank you very much for spending time with me."
