"Hi my name is Veronica Baragas with mywigglesandgiggles.com and I would like to share with you some of the attributes of a day care center. I think that there are many things that can tie in to maybe let's say a good day care center and I think that most importantly it is going to boil down to your staff. A lot of the times you will find day care centers with high turnover rates and I would take into consideration what that means. If you are going to find a center on the flipside who has had employees there for ten years, that is a good sign for one that the day care center has been around for a long time and too, that if a worker likes where they are especially in the day care field that's great because not only do you know that you have teachers there who care about what they are doing but they also feel that they got a good deal so a lot of the times if you are well taken care of at a center you are going to stay there for a long time which means that not only do the teachers care but the directors care about what is going on and what they are giving back to the community. So definitely low turnover rates are good attributes for a day care center. Do they have food programs? Those are going to insure the quality of what your child is eating and what kind of meals they are getting. So food programs is definitely something that is a good attribute for a good day care center and then the length of time that it has been open. How long have they been around? Can you call the Better Business Bureau? Are they registered with them? How many violations do they have in their inspection reports with the state? So those are definitely great as well. There is a long list of things but I think those are some of the top three for me is you know the care workers, the food program and the I guess you could say the establishment record as far as how long have they been open and violations and whatnot. So there are many but those are the top few for me."
