HI. My name is Veronica Baragas with mywigglesandgiggles.com and I'd like to share with you a little bit about lesson plans for daycare teachers. So these are definitely whether you are in home daycare or a large daycare center, lesson plans are a very crucial part of your day. A lot of the times lesson plans can be teachers already made up. So that all you have to do is implement these plans. Now however if you're not fortunate enough to have a plan made for you some of the basics that you want to include, first and foremost is to make sure that they're fun. You want to make sure that you engage these children and that they have your attention to learn. And of course you want to make sure that they're educational and that they're going to promote their developmental skills. A lot of the times you can do lesson plans for the week or by the month. Whatever your plan is, you make sure you want to have a theme. Whether it's an alphabet theme or a numbers theme or food theme, just pick a theme and go from there. A lot of the times, it's kind of like daily activities. So if you're going to do a lesson plan for a week, make sure that every day you have something planned. Some hands on activity or reading material or some type of educational activity planned for them that's all going to tie into the theme for the week. So lets say that it's an animal theme and each day you do a different animal and you're going to talk about where they live and maybe even draw some pictures depending on your age group. So for young ones maybe we're just going to talk about the sounds that they make and what colors they are. To maybe an older theme where they're cutting out and making collages or making certain type of food, stuff like that. So just make sure that you make it fun and educational so that it touches all the developmental skills and that you make sure that it's interactive for the kids to learn. So lesson plans can be a lot of fun. A little bit of work but once implemented the reward is great.
