Tea is becoming more and more popular in our culture, specifically as it relates to having healing properties. One well known healing tea is called ginger tea. Ginger, for many years in the Orient has been used as an antibiotic as well as garlic. And in the western culture it often appears in terms of American Indian medicine. What you can do is take a tea bag filled with peppermint tea, add a little bit of grated ginger to it, allow it to steep for fifteen minutes or so and you have yourself a very very strong tea that will help with the onsets of colds, flu, coughs and so forth. There are many things that you might already have in your pantry that can be used to be very soothing during times when you're feeling ill. One of which would be peppermint tea mixed with yerba blossoms and elder blossoms. Make a nice strong tea out of it. It can cure a cold or certainly take care of a headache, make you a lot more relaxed. Chamomile tea's another one which is wonderful for sleep time as it has relaxing agents.
