Talisker single malt Scotch is the only distillery on the Island of Skye in Scotland. Its flavor profile is extremely peaty it's very strong and intense, yet extremely well balanced and very smooth. It's experiencing increasing popularity in recent years. Having its sales increased by almost forty percent within the last five years. More often than not I serve Talisker neat. Which means poured with no ice and served at room temperature. However, every now and again we will throw one or two ice cubes into it just to soften it and mellow it out just a little bit. Also on a very, very hot day I might serve it over the rocks just to make it a bit more refreshing. The ten year Talisker is the most commonly seen of the Talisker Whiskey's. There is also an eighteen year and a twenty-three year both of which are highly coveted. The flavor profile is extremely peaty although not terribly smoky, extremely smooth and well balanced. Although with enough fire to keep you nice and warm on a cold night. It also goes extremely well with a fine cigar.
