"The AARP offers renters insurance through their website and what renters insurance covers is if you're renting a property and you want to have your personal belongings within that property covered, you should look into an AARP renters insurance. The average cost of renters insurance in 2007 was about two hundred and twenty dollars in the US. So, this could vary greatly be from state to state but two hundred and twenty dollars in annual premiums is not a lot of money to protect some of the expensive household items that you might have TVs, electronics, furniture could all be quite expensive. So, if these items are lost damage or stolen, it could create serious financial burden. So, it's important to have some of these things covered if you are renting a property. The AARP is a large very large organization so some of these products that they offer are fairly good and fairly low priced but the levels of service you might receive and the ease of filing and making claims might be a little bit more difficult with them because they don't have quite that level of service that maybe a specific insurance company would have or with working with an agent that relationship would have with them to help you obtain that coverage."
