"My name is Peter Rainer, and I'm a film critic for the Christian Science Monitor. I'm here to talk as a film critic. Well, the way you get published if you're a critic, is you find a place that is interested in something you've written, enough to hire you to write something. Usually on a freelance basis, just one piece, and sometimes that leads to regular contributions. But it's not easy. And I suppose that you could say that the ultimate film language is such that you don't use language at all. You simply tell a story visually, without resorting to dialogue of any kind. That's the purest form of cinema. But it's not necessarily what movies are all about, because the people who talk about this often forget that many of their favorite movies have lots of talking, lots of dialogue, lots of singing and dancing, lots of people sitting down and going back and forth in conversation. So, I don't have much use for theory, I just know what I like. Okay."
