You may have thought about having a family one day, and at this point you're thinking more along the lines of adopting children but you don't know what's involved. Can you adopt children, are you eligible to adopt children, whatever. Hello, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question, who can adopt children. Well the first thing you want to do is check the laws of the state in which you live to see what the adoption laws provide for. But in general, most anyone can adopt children. You don't have to be married, you don't have to be single. The primary considerations that adoptive agencies are looking at is to make sure that you can provide a stable environment, that you are committed to a permanent relationship, a long term relationship. And that is the general consideration. If you have more specific questions and you don't understand the laws on adoption in the state in which you are residing, strongly consider hiring the services of a family law lawyer who specializes in adoption. Adoption is a sub specialty within the specialty of family law. I'm Robert Todd and thank you for watching.
