You're building a house or helping to build a house and you suddenly come across some construction law terminology and problems. Hello, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question what is construction law. Well construction law is rather all encompassing in that it involves the law that pertains to the construction process and of course the construction process is more than just building or helping to build a house or a structure. It encompasses the building and bidding process, the contracts to build, the contracts to purchase the land upon which the building or structure is to be built, it encompasses the financial instruments whether there's going to security for the building before it is build to a certain level and so forth and so on. It also involves workers compensation. It involves subcontracting issues. So it is a very, very encompassing concept. If you have any questions on construction law, regulations or anything of that nature, we encourage you to seek the services of a lawyer who specializes in construction law. You can individuals, lawyers that specialize in construction law by consulting the yellow pages of your local telephone book or you can go the state bar association's website and see who is certified in construction law.
