"How to spin a basketball on your finger. Now if you've never done it before, you probably want to figure out which finger is going to be best. Now, I know people who spin the ball on their thumb, I know some people who spin the ball on their index finger, or for me I like to do a pointer. And now where you're spinning the ball on your finger, in order to make it keep going. What you want to do first is get a nice rotation on it. You can do it that way, just setting up with one hand. Or you can do it with two hands. And it gives you some good rotation. And then when you're in the middle of rotation you can add a little spin to it. You can do it on your palm, add a little spin to it. Or you can do it on your thumb, or you can try to do it on your thumb. I can't really do it on the thumb. But, index finger. In regular competition spinning the ball on your finger is not ideal. If you're doing maybe a street trick, spinning the ball on your finger maybe adding into a routine that's conducive to what you're doing makes it look fancier. So it's more of a pretty trick than anything."
