"Hi, my name is Charlotte Skiles, I'm a nutrition consultant and clinical herbalist with Eat in Peace Wellness Consulting located in Austin, Texas and today's topic is how to lower your blood pressure with wine. And this is a very interesting topic because I really don't think that can be done. But the idea here would be that alcohol is evasive dilator so in terms of high blood pressure, you get constriction of the blood vessels and alcohol would come in and warm things up, it makes you a little pink in the face, makes you feel warm and flushed. That's evasive dilatory effect of alcohol so in that sense it would lower blood pressure but I wouldn't recommend it because alcohol once again it is a toxin in the body, it stresses the liver and it upsets blood sugar regulation. Like anything in moderation if you're someone who does moderation well, have at it and enjoy your wine, but I certainly wouldn't look at it as a medical intervention for blood pressure and that's what I have to say about lowering your blood pressure with wine."
