Hi. My name is Charlotte Skiles. I'm a nutrition consultant and clinical herbalist with Eat in Peace Wellness Consulting located in Austin, Texas. And today's question is, does Biotin help hair grow faster? And this is an interesting question, and I guess the answer would be, maybe. When you supplement with Biotin at 1000 to 3000 micrograms daily, studies have shown that the quality of hair and nails improve. Now, I'm not sure if the quality of hair and nails is the same as the speed of growth, but it certainly could be I think. I know that one factor that is very important in terms of hair growth is the weather. It's seasonally variable. So when it's warm outside, you get more circulation to your hair, your scalp and what not, and hair grows faster. When it's colder outside, your blood vessels constrict, circulation isn't as good, and your hair and nails tend to grow slower. So, that doesn't have a lot to do with Biotin, but I think it's interesting none the less. So yeah, supplementing with 1000-3000 micrograms of Biotin a day can certainly improve the quality of hair and nails.
