"Hi, I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshops.com and I'm going to talk about how to write a love story. One of the most important components of your love story is going to be the setting. Think about where... a setting that will take the reader to a romantic place. The setting is going to interact with the story a lot, so, what....something that you might not realize, but a setting is important in a love story. Once you've arrived at an idea of a setting, think about your characters. They're really the most important element in the story, because your reader will really need to relate to them, really root for them, or have strong feelings about them in order to make the love story something that's meaningful to people. Think about how their interactions will lead up to the climax of them falling in love, and the...one way to really build this is to have some tension between the two characters, where they may have disagreements, or they may...it may look unlikely that they will end up together. So think about ways that you can build that tension towards your ultimate climax of the couple falling in love, and then you'll have a resolution. And most love stories end with the couple happily....living happily ever after. So that's sort of the formula for love stories, and not one that has to always be followed, but that's kind of your basic idea for a love story. Read some other books and get some ideas. One book I really like is 'A Thousand Acres.' It's not your typical love story, in fact, it's...ends very differently, but this is a great book to read as an example of one that will give you some...a lot of ideas about tension and relationships, and also a very unusual ending. So those are some ideas about how to write a love story."
