Hi, I'm Laura from And I'm going to talk about setting academic goals. It's a really important thing to do, especially as you get older as your the students become older it's really important to have goals because this will help with motivation and in some internal motivation towards these goals will really help in getting the task done that are needed too complete along the way. So the the most important step in setting academic goals is to have a really large; larger, more of a vision of where you'd like to be or what you'd like to achieve. A specific; too specific of a goal such as getting a 95 on the exam might be harder to achieve because that's, that's very narrow and doesn't give, it leaves a lot of potential for being disappointed, while a larger goal like passing all of the, all of my classes with a B or higher is much easier to achieve. So focus on a goal such as a grade point range or just successful completion of the grade. And then think about what some of the specific tasks to lead up to that might be for example: studying everyday, completing all of my assignments. Things that are the the stepping stones for achieving the goal. Also think about what some of the potential risks or the the obstacles are to achieving the goal and then come up with a plan for working around those obstacles. For example if completing homework is difficult because of an after school job, find a way to get, an alternate way to get the homework done to work around it. Maybe an extra study-hall during the day or using lunch hour to study. Something like that that will help to work around the problems. And then put the, put all those plans into place. Use that as a daily plan. Think about that daily. And reinforce that since this the ultimate academic goal is out there, think about what it is that you need to each day. Those are some ideas about setting academic goals.
