Hi, my name is Erica in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm going to talk to you today about how to treat newborn constipation. There are many ways to do this. There are suppositories that you can use that you actually insert into the baby's rectal area to relieve them of the constipation. There are also laxative drops that are medicinal, which you give them orally, that will help flush out constipation. You can move the baby's legs in a bicycle motion, and this will help move it around to relieve the constipation and actually get them to go potty. Also, you can massage their belly in a clockwise circular motion, and that will help move all of the stuff that needs to come out of the baby down. If you've tried all of this and the constipation still occurs and the baby is still having problems with the constipation, then take the baby in to see their physician to see if there are any other alternatives that you can use.
