"Hi, I'm Erica. I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah, and I'm going to talk to you today about how to apply for a social security card for your baby. Usually, when you have your baby, the hospital has a paper to fill out that you want a social security card, and it actually is mailed to you. If you don't get that option or you've lost the paper or however you didn't get it done in the hospital, you can look up online and see if there's a way to do it online or you can go into a social security office and fill out the paper there and get everything taken care of in the actual office. Make sure that you do do this before they're a year old just so that you have it and have record of them and all that type of thing. And be sure you save it so that when they're older, they can have it when they're older. And if you're in the hospital and you think about that you didn't see the paper, you can always ask the hospital for one. I...they probably would have one for you."
