"Hi, my name is Brooke Kramer, and I'm a financial aid officer with Argosy University in Salt Lake City, and today we're going to talk about how to reduce your student loans. My biggest suggestion to you in reducing your student loans is to make payments while you are still attending school. The more you can pay off towards your loan while you are in school means the less you're going to have to repay once you graduate from school. My other suggestion is to try and limit the amount of student loans you take out. Really only take out what is needed specifically for you. This way, again, as you continue on, you're limiting how much you can take out, and your payments will be a lot smaller. Finally, my last suggestion for you is to talk to your lender about consolidating your loan. When you consolidate your loan, that means that you can your repayment period a little bit longer, as well as, hopefully, reduce your interest payment so it's smaller than when you originally received the loans.
