"Hi my name is Brooke Kramer and I'm the Financial Aid Officer at Argosy University in Salt Lake City, and today we're going to talk about government student loans. And there are a variety of different types of government loans available to students. The most commonly used student loan is the Stafford loan. In order to see if you qualify for the Stafford loan, you need to first complete the free application for federal student aid. You can find this at www.fasa.ed.gov. As well as that loan, there is also the Grad Plus loan, and the Parent Plus loan available to students. Now both of these loans are based on your credit score, so your credit will be checked when you apply for these loans. You can also look at alternative loans. Now, alternative loans are not government funded loans, so you would have to go to a private lender in order to qualify for these loans and find out what the qualifications are. If you have any other questions please feel free to check out our website at www.argosy.edu."
