Hi, my name is Brook Kramer, and I'm the financial aid officer at Argosy University in Salt Lake City, and today we're talking about the history of financial aid. Now, pretty much, the government decided to create different types of financial aid available to students because there was a large number of people who couldn't afford to go to school, so the government did create a couple of programs available to students, so if you weren't rich or if you needed additional help, the government could help you succeed in schooling. Now the first thing you're going to want to do to find out if you qualify for financial aid through these programs, is to actually go to www.fafsa.edu, and you can complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This is the application created so you can find out how much you qualify in federal loans and grants. If you have any additional questions on different types of financial aid, or where it even began, you can look up that information at the Department of Education or you can visit our website at www.argosy.edu.
