"What is or who is the seventh day Adventist church? The seventh day Adventist church birth place is in Washington New Hampshire. It began in seventeen seventy six. It's interesting that Washington New Hampshire is named after the first president in the United States. So, there is much about the seventh day Adventist church that has to do with freedom. The three basic points that they emphasize in their teachings is number one that at the heart of the seventh day Adventist church is that it is a Christian church. Secondly, it emphasizes freedom within that faith tradition and thirdly, it honors diversity within the congregation. There's a noble characteristics I think that are indicted of the United States as well. They believe that there's a biblical authority for every belief that they hold. There is a saying they have is there is no creed but the bible. The seventh day is their day of worship which is on Saturday and they have a strong history as well of social involvement in areas that I think are very important and quite noble. They were abolitionist in the beginning. They have roles for women in the church and you talking about the eighteenth century having roles for women in positions of teaching in authority. It was absolutely revolutionary. So, they have a tradition of temperance as well where there is no alcohol or tobacco and they also have a lot to say about health reform. So, the whole area of nutrition and taking care of your body is very important within the seventh day Adventist church. There's also a worldwide movement which by the end of the nineteenth century had taken place. They have a huge area of audio visuals and they had their own history channel which is called The Hope channel and the context that I had with pastors from the seventh day Adventist church has been very rewarding. They are very warm people and I believe that place that most people would enjoy visiting."
