"Hi, my name is Reka Morvay. I'm a psychologist, and I'm going to talk to you today about how to ask for a girl's phone number. Asking for a girl's phone number is something that you will probably end up doing a great number of times in your life, so you might as well get as much practice with it as possible while you're still in high school. So, if you want to ask for a girl's phone number, your best strategy would be to try to make friends with this girl, so that you're hanging out, and you're just having casual conversations about all sorts of other stuff. And, you know, maybe this will come up in a casual way, that you would like to go to a party together, or you would like to go to the same event together. And, this way, it won't be such a big deal to ask for this girl's phone number. Now, you could also use this gesture of asking for a girl's phone number and make it something much more significant. So, if you want to signal your interest in a girl, then you don't have to go about it and try to make it seem as casual as possible. Then, if you want to use this as a signal that you're interested in the girl, then you can just go up to her, and, without, you know, any kind of preamble, say "I would like to give you a call. Can I please have your phone number?" Usually this straight approach is the least easy to misunderstand, so it's the most direct."
