Hi, I'm Kelli, I'm an aesthetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics, and I'm going to tell you how you can get rid of scars from hives. Basically, what causes a scar is if you've picked at a blemish or a hive or irritation, and then you've gone out into the sun without protection, it causes that area to hyperpigment. So one thing you want to do is to use a really good alphahydroxy based exfoliant, such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, or malic acid, and you can either get an at-home peel kit or you can go to a dermatologist or an aesthitician and they can administer a higher strength peel. And basically what this is going to do is it's going to bring damaged, dead skill cells to the surface; exfoliate, get rid of them, even the texture, soften the look, and even any discolorations. Another thing that you can follow up with is a lightening gel, and this is going to help to soften the appearance, it's going to help to actually go deeper down within the skin and lighten up the discoloration so you'll have a more even tone, a lighter tone, and what you have to do is just use this consistently for four to eight weeks, and a follow up with a sunscreen and minimize your sun exposure. But those are some things that you can do to get rid of scars from hives.
