"Hi, I'm Kelli. I'm an aesthetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics. And I'm going to tell you how to pluck eyebrows. Actually, you tweeze eyebrows. You don't pluck eyebrows -- you pluck a chicken. So first thing you want to do is you want to go through and figure out what shape your eyebrows should be for the eye. So easiest way to do is to take a brush or a eyeliner -- something like that -- and you're going to hold it straight down from the corner of the brow to the corner of the nose. And that should be where your brow begins. Take it from the corner of the nose over to the center pupil of the eye, and that's where it should arch. And from the corner of the nose to the outer corner of the eye -- that's where it should end. So anything that's out of that realm is basically something that you want to tweeze and get rid of. So first thing we're going to do is we're just going to take a little antiseptic and we're going to actually clean that area because we want to make sure it's free of any bacteria because we're tweezing the follicles -- we're opening that follicle -- and we don't want any bacteria to get in there and create either a clogged pore or an ingrown hair or anything like that. So we're going to take our tweezers. I like to use a slant tip tweezer. Other people like, maybe, a point tip, but this is the easiest for me. So what you want to actually do is you're going to lift up, apply some tension on the brow. You're going to grab the hair and you want to pull quickly in the direction that it's growing. It's going to make it come out a lot easier, and it's also going to inflict less pain and less discomfort on yourself or if you're plucking somebody else. Same thing on the inner portion. You're going to pluck more in an upward motion because the hair in this center section here between the brows typically grows more in an upward fashion. Underneath and on the top grows more in an outward motion, so you're going to kind of pluck out towards the ear. Quick motions, apply some tension. So that's how you would want to tweeze your eyebrows."
