"Hi, I'm Kelli. I'm an aesthetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon Cosmetics and I'm going to show you the best way to put on foundation. So, the first thing you want to do is you want to make sure that the foundation is the proper color for your skin tone. So, what I'm going to do is take a small amount. We're actually going to start on her cheek and we're going to blend down to her jaw and we want it to blend in and not leave any line of demarcation which it doesn't. So, we're just going to take a pump and I like to put it on with a brush. You get better coverage and it's more of a natural look and you use a lot less of the makeup. I'm just going to put it on. We're going to apply in light downward stokes. Downward strokes help to minimize the look of the pores. We're going to focus most of our coverage on the inner position of the face which is where typically most people need it. A Brush also makes it a lot easier to get around the nose and into places that need a little bit more coverage and they're definitely less wasteful than sponges. Sponges have a tendency to absorb your makeup and waste it. Plus, they have a lot of bacteria. So, you can see how it just naturally evens her skin tone. It gives her a nice natural look and it blends in really well and she doesn't look like she has a lot of makeup on. So, that's the best way to apply a foundation."
