There are many different styles available for grooming poodle dog breeds, most of which can be accomplished by hand scissoring or by using different blades and trimmer attachments. Leave the neck of a poodle long and graceful, and make sure the top knot and tail stand at the same level with advice from a professional dog groomer in this free video on grooming dogs.

Hi, this is Sammi at the Utah Animal Care Center in West Bountiful, Utah. I have Tia here to help me demonstrate how to groom your pet poodle. There are many different styles available. Poodles are groomed to be well balanced and elegant. They can either be hand scissored, or you can cut the body from any blades from a number seven finish blade to the longer attachment combs. The neck on a poodle is left long and graceful. You'll want it to blend into the topknot. You'll use your curved shears to hand scissor on the topknot, with your curved shears. You'll want to make sure that it's hung slightly over the eyes. You'll want to make sure that the ears are left long and trimmed on the edges to give them a nice, clean appearance. The tail on a poodle should be level with the topknot when standing up. You'll want to shave their face, feet, and tail with a number forty blade.
