Repelling Carpenter Ants

"Hi friends, I'm mark Govan with ABC Pest Control. And repelling carpenter ants can be a problem. You know, if you have carpenter ants or you've seen carpenter ants around your home and you really need to get rid of them, the best thing to do is go ahead and treat your exterior plants and siding of your home, because that is where the carpenter ants usually tend to nest, that and of course under landscape timbers, maybe if have a large rock in the yard, or if you have a lot of mulch, the carpenter ants will nest in those areas. So the best way to really repel them or get them away from the home is by applying a good insecticide or a granular bait around the home, and that will detract those carpenter ants from nesting or being in your area. Something else you may want to consider, is doing regular inspections, either within the home or up in the attic, to making sure that you don't have nests of carpenters ants up inside those areas. If you do have nests inside the home call a professional, a professional will do the service for you and help you get rid of those carpenter ants, and that's what you really need to do. Repelling them again on the outside of the home, great idea, spray your trees, spray your shrubs, don't forget to go ahead and do a application on any citrus trees or any type of flowering trees around the home, because carpenter ants feed upon some of the insects that feed on those plants.
