Does Listerine Kill Fleas & Ticks?

"Hi friends, Mark Govan here with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida. And you know, sometimes homeowners ask us, are there any other methods to kill fleas? You know, one of these methods people asked is, what about Listerine? Will Listerine kill fleas, because it does kill germs in your mouth, will that help to kill fleas too? Well, you know these home remedies, sometimes you have to step back and say, well, how would I apply that in my home to kill fleas? Remember where the fleas live. They're going to live on your pet, and they're going to live in your carpet waiting to jump on your pet, or outside in and around your environment. So, I would probably say no. Don't use Listerine to kill your fleas. Use a product that's actually labeled and given by the state that says it's OK to kill fleas. Now there are a lot of different products on the market that you can use. Of course, I recommend professional application in order to get rid of flea control. One thing though, if you don't have the money to spend on professional application, what you could do, is you could go out and have a person, or yourself vacuum the home very, very good and then throw away the vacuum bag. That will eliminate a lot of the fleas in your area, so you don't have to worry about them. Again, this is Mark Govan, with another tip about flea control, and I hope you have a pest free day."
