"Hi friends, I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control and during the summer months, people come in and ask us, do fleas live on people? Well sometimes and let's say maybe 1, 5% of the actual human population may have problems with fleas actually living on them but that's normally as a secondary cause because of pets may be living with them or maybe they sleep with a pet on a regular basis and those fleas have actually jumped off the pet and may feed on the host during the night. But for the most part, fleas tend to leave people alone unless they're in very dirty areas and we know people don't live like that mostly, so a good washing of the sheets, vacuuming of the floors will also help eliminate the flea population quite a bit and making sure that you basically clean yourself on a regular basis, you will eliminate most fleas. Remember, fleas do like to move around and they don't like to stay on a host. Normally they will feed on you and then what they'll do is they will go ahead and jump off and they will digest the meal that they have just had when they feed on you. So for the most part, don't worry about the fleas living on you, worry about the environment that you're currently in, keep that environment clean, keep your pets treated on a regular basis if you have a flea collar or something for your pet, that will help tremendously as well. I'm Mark Govan here with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida hoping you have a pest free day."
