To find the recycle bin on a computer, go to the "Start" button, click on "Computer," select "My computer" and find the recycle bin icon. Keep the recycle bin on a computer's desktop for easier access with IT help from a software developer in this free video on computers.
Hi, my name's Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to find the Recycle Bin on a computer. Let's go to our desktop, and obviously the most common place to find the Recycle Bin will be on your desktop, because you'll have an icon here that says 'Recycle Bin'. So if you have a lot of windows open, such as your computer browser here, you're not going to be able to see it directly from here immediately, so you'll need to minimize the programs that you have open, and you'll find the Recycle Bin right there on your desktop. Now, another way you can locate it is if you go back to the computer area that I just had, and I'll show you how to open that by clicking on the 'Start' button, and then clicking on 'Computer', or 'My Computer', in the case of Windows XP. You have a little drop-down up here, and it's right next to the image of a computer and before the word computer, it's a little arrow that you can click on, and that drops down. As you can see, the Recycle Bin is one of these options. So I'll just click right there on the Recycle Bin, and if I happen to have anything in there... let me delete a file here... you can see that it appears here, in my Recycle Bin, and I can also jump directly back to the computer, by choosing the 'Computer' option. So that little drop-down is just a real quick way, when you're browsing your files, to actually access the Recycle Bin. My name's Dave Andrews, and I've just showed you how to find the Recycle Bin on a computer.
