"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to find an IP number. Let's go to our computer. And first we're going to see what our IP is, click on the start button, and right above your start button let's type CMD, as in command, and press enter. This brings up a command prompt that you can run on your desktop. So what I'm going to type here is IP config, which is a program that will list out the current IP assigned to this computer, I'm just going to press enter. Now if I scroll up to through the results I can see that I have a wireless LAN adapter that has an IP address of 10.0.1.199, that is how I find my local IP address. Now to find the IP address of a web server or a server that's on the Internet, within the same command prompt we're going to type the program, MS lookup and hit enter. Now let's type in the name of the website or server that we want to lookup, I'm going to type in Google. That returned several addresses for Google as you can see are listed here in this addresses range right here. That's how you find the IP address of a remote server. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just told you how to find IP addresses."
