We're going to start with the computer turn off and we're going to boot it into what's called a safe mode with command prompt. So I'm going to start my computer up now and when it's booting, you have to press a special key to tell that you want to go on the safe mode and that is the F8 key and you have to do it as Windows starts to boot. So you get presented with this screen right here and I'm going to choose in this menu, safe mode with command prompt, just press enter. Now it's just going to boot Windows up into what's called a safe mode and we're basically going to be displayed with a single command prompt that allows to format the drive. Now once your computer has booted up, you'll be presented with this command line prompt right here that gives you basically a c: and allows you type in a command and you'll be in safe mode which will tell your right here. The command that you're going to want to run is very simple; it's format c:, you basically type that in and then you press enter and your computer is going to go through a process of formatting the c drive using the NTFS file system.
