"Hello, my name is Carole Wilbourn. I'm The Cat Therapist here in New York City. In this clip, we're going to talk about when do male cats start spraying. A male cat can start to spray as early as four or five months, but it's usually a little later. A male cat sprays when he's aroused by a female cat or when he's marking territory and saying, "This is my spot. I was here." or to let a female cat know that he's around and at our service. Spraying is when a cat injects urine on a wall or on a flat surface or just anywhere. And it usually has a very potent, unpleasant odor. Usually, most cats will no longer spray 10 days or more after neutered, but a cat can spray if very excited, even after being neutered. So remember, you can control a cat spraying pretty much by having your cat neutered. And if your cat happens to spray after being neutered, there is a problem. Look into it. Once again, this is Carole Wilbourn, The Cat Therapist, in New York City."
