Video Transcript

"Hi, I'm Donna Barnes. I'm a life and dating coach, the owner of NY Dating Coach, here in New York City. In this clip, we'll talk about marriages involving a sex change. So, if this is your situation and you're choosing to stay in this relationship, then good for you. When you enter in a marriage with somebody, it's because you love them, truly, and what's best for them should be what makes you happy. And although it can be a really difficult, hard time, don't take it personally. It has nothing to do with you... their choice of how they want to portray themselves sexually and how they feel sexually. So, try not to take it personally, and try to be supportive of them. Try to find out what they need from you... in fact, ask that. "What can I do to make this easier for you? What do you need from me?" And they're probably going through a lot as it is. If you can not be an additional stress level for them, then that would be really helpful to them. So, communication is the biggest part. If you're staying in the relationship because it's such a tremendous friendship and because you have a genuine love for this person, then keep that alive and keep that going. This is Donna Barnes, from New York City."
