Hi I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshops.com and I'm going to talk about how to write an argumentative paper or essay. The first step in writing an essay of this kind is to make your point. Now it should be a point that you can support with a lot of information so when you are choosing whatever point you would like to argue be sure that you have information to support it so in the topic sentence and in the opening paragraph you will explain how you are going to support your point so this is what I think and I am going to tell you a little bit more about why I think this. Then each paragraph in the body of your paper or essay will support one specific point so you might begin each paragraph with a point that supports your main argument and then that paragraph will be dedicated just to that one supporting argument. Your concluding paragraph, your last paragraph will summarize the points that you have made and reiterate your argument and you will say in your conclusion so these are some of the reason that I believe this and I have shown many valid arguments for why my point is true. So be sure to use that concluding statement to tie it all together and to bring home your argument. Have someone read it over for you and really make use of proofreading and peer review to make sure your argument holds water and proofread well to make sure you don't have any spelling or grammar errors and those are some ideas about how to write an argument paper or essay.
