"Hi I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshops.com and I'm going to talk about how to motivate yourself to do homework. I think a really good thing to keep in mind of even just to change that equation of having to motivate yourself to do homework and try to think of it as getting you closer to your goal of becoming a knowledgeable person. I know it may be too late and some of us have already kind of decided that we hate homework but the more you can start to change your attitude and think of homework as some building blocks or some tools to help you on your path to what you would like to become as an educated person and someone who has a lot of skills and a lot of talents. Homework is just part of that, it is teaching you how to accomplish things, how to get work done and usually you learn something when you do homework so make that a goal is to change your attitude about homework and think of it as something really positive. Another way that you can try and make homework more positive is to find ways to make it fun so maybe find if you have a writing assignment try and find something that is really fun for you to write about, something that you love, something that you might want to illustrate or even turn into a larger project after you have turned it in. The same with math, maybe find a way to make it more concrete and use a favorite toy or manipulative to do the math homework so that it becomes more fun for you or find an online tool that helps you do math in a more interesting way. So the more you can bring in enjoyable aspects to homework and make it fun you won't have to fight against it so much and make it to where you sort of have to force yourself or motivate yourself to get something done and it will be more like an enjoyable process and something that you might even look forward to. So those are some ideas about how to motivate yourself to do homework."
