"Hi, my name is Eric Frischhertz. I'm a cardiologist in Austin, Texas with CapitalCardio.com. And I'm here to answer the question of how to live with heart disease. The first and foremost way to live with heart disease is to understand that it is a treatable condition but that you need to follow up regularly with your doctor and take the medications that have been proven over time and through scientific method to beneficial in treating heart disease. And your doctor should inform you of what medications are right for you. And obviously you would like to do your own research but I would recommend you find a doctor that you can work with and one that you trust and that will follow you on a regular basis to determine the treatment regimen that is best for you. And there are very effective medicines these days for treating cardiovascular disease in general and specifically for treating blockages in the arteries, which is the most common form of cardiovascular disease that we see as adult cardiologists. And that would be my recommendation of how to live with heart disease."
